Google Search & Maldives Tourism
Have you ever wondered how many searches are done on Google anually which relates to Maldives or Maldives travel industry? We have done a reasearch using Google keyword analysis tool and was quite suprised on what the outcome was.
Every year 1,500,000 or 1.5 Million searches are done on Google by using the keyword ‘Maldives’. Websites competing for this keyword will have to pay an average of US$1.71 per click. Currently Maldives page on Wikipedia is the number one result and official tourism website of Maldives (visitmaldives.com) is the runnerup.
Visit Maldives logo and rivals
Tourism in Maldives is referred to as ‘Chicken who lays golden eggs’ by many Maldivians in various occasions. Which is very true as it has remained the major contributor to our economy since 1972. Every year Maldives attracts 600,000 tourists from various countries and interestingly, the population of our country is only 300,000.
Maldives tourism is branded and marketed as ‘Visit Maldives‘ and with the slogan ‘The sunny side of life’. I don’t remember when this branding campaign was initiated, but I always remember seeing the following logo as official Maldives logo used in marketing tourism of the country.
